The A483 is Fromm’s pneumatic pusher tool is made exclusively for steel strapping. It is a very heavy tool and is largely used in the strapping industry for banding difficult to strap objects like steel coils, tubes and rods. It is available in two models, the main application being for 1 ¼” steel straps.
Like all other Fromm tools, the A483, though a very heavy tool, can withstand large and continuous operation and is very durable. It is as popular as the other tools and has already proved to be a great tool in industry circles. This tool has a pneumatically raised feedwheel. This feature helps introduce heavy steel straps. Due to this feature any additional operation by the worker gets reduced.
The feed wheel is automatic and thus proves to be faster in strapping any application. Since it is very heavy and is used in packing different shapes and sizes of packages, the tool is available with four different suspension brackets.
Features:
- Strap Quality: High tensile (ultra flex)
- Strap dimension: 25.0-32.0x.80-1.00mm, 1 ¼” x.031”-.040”
- Two buttons: Semi- automatic
- Sealing type: 1.25 inch push seal
- Weight: 18.0 kg/ 39.7 lbs
This tool varies from its other pneumatic counterpart, the A480, in that it is a lot lighter. Because of this, the tool allows for more mobility. The A480 is also a push type pneumatic steel strapping tool. The only difference between the A480 and the A483 is the heavy weight of the latter. A480 weighs only half of A483.
Though these tools are still popular in the industry and customers continue using it, the steel industry is slowly giving up on pneumatic tools for the simple reason that it is very heavy and cumbersome, when compared to the newly arriving battery operated tools in the market. For example there is the Grip Pack 114 sealer and Tensioner that are great steel strapping options. They are not only light in weight, but do the job required as efficiently too.
The new battery operated tools have the lithium-ion 18V Bosch batteries, which are well known for performance. Moreover, unlike pneumatic machines, where air lines run through all work room floors, the battery operated tools are portable and workers carry the tool wherever they have to go.
The A483 is operated by placing the straps one on top of the other. The strap on top is held with the left hand, so that it does not get tangled with the sealing part of the tool. The right hand index finger is used to trigger the valve to begin the sealing process. Once the seal is applied the lever is released and the joint is checked.
This tool is very good for high tension strapping. Check with Allstrap for prices of the tools or call their customer service department for any other enquiry.
