1) Standard duty Fromm P326 or Fromm P327 tools. These battery strapping tools are used with 1/2-5/8″ or 5/8-3/4″ polyester strapping. The P326 and P327 can be set for one of two sizes. The Fromm distributor will preset the tool to the size you need. This Fromm battery combo tool is very tough, and runs on state of the art lithium batteries.
2) Heavy duty Fromm p330 or Fromm P331 (to be released Fall 2013) tools. These battery strapping tools are used with 3/4-1″ or 1 1/4″ polyester strapping. The P330 and P331 put Fromm’s toughness to work in heavy duty industry. These combination strapping tools are replacing steel strapping in tough applications. These also run on lithium batteries and can pull some great tension!
These new battery strapping tools from Fromm, Signode, and Golden Bear are sure to change the way you strap! We are looking forward to battery strapping tools!
Fromm started with the P320 (light duty) and P321 (heavy duty), and have moved up from there. The P322/p323 were the second generation. The P324/P325 were the next generation, these tools switched from a two motor down to one motor. They run the Fromm motor one direction for tension, and the other direction to seal/cut the strapping.
The current generation of strapping tools for poly are the P326 (light duty) and the P327 (heavy duty). They are almost the same as the previous tools, but now use a lithium Ion battery. That means two things: 1) you can run almost double the cycles 2) the battery does not drain over time like the NiCad battery did!
There is also a new super heavy duty fromm tool out the P330. It does 1″ and 3/4″. It is almost 13 pounds, so for .75 inch strapping we almost always use the lighter P327.
We switched into Fromm packaging tools because they just hold up longer then anything else out there. The parts cost more then Signode or Orgapack, but we don’t change them nearly as often. They have a lower cost of ownership.
Their tools are great for steel service centers. The Fromm A452 is the best pneumatic pusher tool (used on rewind and eye tie lines), with the Fromm pistol grip sealer. There is a new company out there making a A452 style with a battery instead of a pneumatic line. We will link live to Golden Bear after we test their tensioner.
The new plastic tools are great! The P326 and P327 are lithium battery powered combination tools for polyester strapping, and they put great tension. The earlier models had trouble with motors, but Fromm pack seems to have taken care of the problems. They also take abuse well, and handle drops, and unfortunately being used as a hammer… The P330 is for 1″ polyester strapping and is a monster! It is a great tool, but is very heavy. Ok heavy is relative, it is just about 13 pounds, so not heavy compared to the A483 combo tool for steel strapping which is more like 40 pounds…
